Less than 80 days left until the first BOSS GP race in Mugello and already numerous drivers have registered for our 26th season.
The registration has only started at the beginning of January, and despite this, numerous drivers and teams have already registered for the 2020 season. The interest has rarely been as great as this year. We thank you all, who has already signed for the season!
The regulations of the
spectacular racing series are very similar to those of 2019. Only the fastest
monoposto racing cars of the past 20 years will be allowed to participate. Six
race weekends with twelve races are scheduled for Europe’s fastest racing
series this season. Starting in March with the return to Mugello, followed by
the Jim Clark Revival at the Hockenheimring, Forza Fanatec in Misano, the Cuvee
Sensorium Grand Prix in Assen, the Masaryk Racing Days in Brno and the Pirelli
Grande Final in Imola in October.

Alessandro Bracalente reduces the gap to championship leader Ghiotto by winning his 4th race of the year.
Bracalente (ITA, Speed Center) drove unchallenged to his fourth victory of the
season in the FORMULA class. The BOSS GP rookie thus reduced the gap to Marco
Ghiotto (ITA, Scuderia Palladio) in the points standings from 15 to only 12
points. Now it is clear that the championship will be decided in the last race
on Sunday. Ghiotto followed Bracalente throughout the race like a shadow. Only
at the end of the race he lost the connection to Bracalente and the gap grow to
an high of four seconds at the finish line.
Martucci (ITA, MM International) showed an incredible pace at the finish. At
the beginning of the race he dropped back to 9th place, but on the last lap he
made it onto the podium. For Martucci it is his fifth visit on the podium in
2019. In a courageous last lap manoeuvre, he overtook Salvatore de Plano (ITA,
Top Speed), who seems to have bad luck on his racing boots. For de Plano it was
nevertheless the second-best result of the season and the highest finish since
the Hockenheim season opener.
Fiedler (DEU, Fiedler Racing) was also involved in the fight for the podium at
the opening stage of the race. In the end he finished fifth. He scored five
championship points more than Philippe Haezebrouck (FRA, Speed Center), who
finished seventh. Tomorrow Haezebrouck and Fiedler will fight for third place
in the FORMULA ranking.
Faggionato (MCO, Zig-Zag) could not set any time in qualifying because his car
had not been repaired in time. That didn’t stop him from moving up to 6th place
from last position on the grid. For several laps he battled with Haezebrouck
Steding (DEU, Inter Europol) was surprisingly in the top 6 at the beginning of
the race, ahead of Martucci and Haezebrouck. With rank 8, he finished in good
midfield this time.
Matile (MCO, Zig-Zag) finished 9th with the only Auto GP Lola in the field.
Peter Göllner won the internal team duel between him and Christian Eicke (both
SUI, Speed Center).
Ripoli (ITA, MM International) and Ulf Ehninger (DEU, ESBA Racing) had to
retire early in the race. Because Ripoli stopped at the warm-up lap, he had to
start at the back of the grid at the Indy start. He tried to improve his
position in the first lap and collided with Ehninger’s Benetton in the Tosa
victory was again secured by Ingo Gerstl (AUT, Top Speed). Not surprisingly,
the already crowned OPEN champion in his Toro Rosso dominated the eleventh race
of the season.
and last race of the BOSS GP anniversary season will take place tomorrow Sunday
at 2:10 p.m., before that at 10:30 a.m. is BOSS GP’s warm-up session.
The first race of BOSS GP in Brno has been postponed to Sunday, starting time 9:15 am.
The heavy rain caused Volker Ehekircher, the race director and series organiser to postpone the race scheduled for 14:50 today to Sunday. The weather forecasts promise better conditions for the second race day at the Masaryk Racing Days.
The warm-up scheduled for tomorrow will not take place, instead two BOSS GP races will be held on just one day. Race 1 starts at 9:15, race 2 at 12:55. Both races have a distance of 20 minutes.

for races 9 and 10 of the BOSS GP 2019 was held at 11 degrees outside
temperature and in drizzle. At least the choice of tyres was easy: all the
drivers went for the Pirelli Cinturato rain tyre. Despite the difficult weather
conditions the BOSS GP pilots did a good job keeping their racing cars on the
expected, Ingo Gerstl (AUT, Top Speed) in Toro Rosso STR1 took another pole
position for the two races in Brno. Next to him Christopher Höher (AUT, Top
Speed) starts from row 1 in the best FORMULA car.
spin at the beginning of Q2 Marco Ghiotto (ITA, Scuderia Palladio) got into the
right rhythm. With position 3 he starts one place ahead of rival Alessandro
Bracalente (ITA, Speed Center). Bracalente had to deal with less driving time
in Q1 for yesterday’s top 5. Although the conditions in both sessions remained
the same, the drivers from Q2 were able to rewind significantly more laps. In
the rain this is usually an advantage.
From row 3
the reigning champion Florian Schnitzenbaumer (DEU, Top Speed) and Philippe
Haezebrouck (FRA, Speed Center) will start the races. Haezebrouck finished the
session with an even faster time, but it was cancelled due to the disregard of
a yellow flag. The same happened to four other pilots.
winner Marc Faggionato (MCO, Zig-Zag) ended up eighth behind Andreas Fiedler
(DEU, Fiedler Racing), Thomas Jakoubek (AUT, Top Speed) in ninth place despite
little rain experience, Luca Martucci (ITA, MM International) in 10th place
Matile (MCO, Zig-Zag) and Gianluca Ripoli (ITA, MM International) starting from
row 6. Walter Steding (DEU, Inter Europol), who rolled out with a defect
shortly before the end of qualifying, and Christian Eicke (SUI, Speed Center)
will start from row 7. Teammate Peter Göllner (SUI, Speed Center) missed the
qualifying session, but can start in the races.

The innovative and aspiring Moravian city of Brno will host the ninth and tenth BOSS Grand Prix 2019 from 5 to 8 September.
The second largest city in the Czech Republic will host another exciting round of the Big Open Single Seater anniversary season. After TT Circuit in Assen follows with the Automotodrom Brno another racetrack famous for motorcycle races. With a track length of 5.403 kilometres, the track on the western outskirts of the city is the longest in the 2019 BOSS GP racing calendar. Fast and smooth curves alternate with a technically demanding part. Engine power is also a decisive factor, as the Czech roller coaster climbs steeply in the last third of the track.
What will the Masaryk Racing Days offer?
The BOSS GP series has arrived in the middle of championship battle. Ingo Gerstl (AUT, Top Speed) could already be crowned champion in the OPEN class in Brno with an extension of the winning streak that has already lasted three races. The FORMULA class is much closer: Alessandro Bracalente (ITA, Speed Center) and Marco Ghiotto (ITA, Scuderia Palladio) have the best chances there. Philippe Haezebrouck (FRA, Speed Center) and Andreas Fiedler (DEU, Fiedler Racing) are still considered outsiders before the last four rounds in Brno and Imola. Marc Faggionato and Nicolas Matile will add an extra spice with their guest starts in Brno. Faggionato won both races last year.
In addition to the headliner BOSS GP, there will be much more racing from Thursday to Sunday: Sports Car and P9 Challenge, Drexler Formula Cup, ESET V4 Cup with TCR, Suzuki Swift Cup Europe and historic racing classes (HAIGO). The racing fans can look forward to a total of 19 races at the weekend.

The high-class ambience of the DTM was ideal for BOSS GP to present a new series partner in a gala event: “Champagne is part of motorsport. Our bottles are ideal accessories for special, we call them Sensorial Moments, as they often occur in motorsport”, explains Janna Sonntag from Cuvee Sensorium the cooperation with BOSS GP.
These champagne bottles, which have been available since last year, are unique: instead of glass, the bottles are made of porcelain. “High-quality packaging for high-quality content” is Sonntag’s description of the company’s idea. The champagne itself comes from a family-run house with 120 years of experience. “Cuvee Sensorium is currently sold directly on request via the website www.champagne-sensorium.com or shops in Monaco, France and the U.S.”

Marco Ghiotto wins again in FORMULA and Ingo Gerstl strikes back in the OPEN category.
It was the
counterattack of the record champion: After Phil Stratford (USA, Penn Elcom)
had beaten Ingo Gerstl (AUT, Top Speed) for the second time this year
yesterday, Stratford had no chance today. Gerstl took his fourth victory of the
season with a dominant performance in his Toro Rosso STR1 and thus extends the
overall lead again.
Stratford tried to follow Gerstl, but yesterday’s winner suddenly stopped in
lap 9. A technical problem on the Benetton B197 forced Stratford to stop
between the two Lesmo corners.
FORMULA class Marco Ghiotto (ITA, Scuderia Palladio) repeated his victory of
yesterday. Only a safety car shortly before the end made him sweat, otherwise
the uncle of Formula 2 driver Luca Ghiotto had everything under control. Ghiotto
is now the championship leader in the BOSS GP FORMULA category for the first
time after his double victory this race weekend.
Ghiotto: “Today it was easy. For the set-up I played it safe and didn’t
adjust the rear wing as flat as yesterday. To win again at the home race here
in Monza is a sensational experience for the team and for me as an

Gianluca Ripoli (ITA, MM International) he was already fifth in class in lap 4.
In lap 6 he overtook Philippe Haezebrouck (FRA, Speed Center) and Luca Martucci
(ITA, MM International). Having reached class rank 3, the distance to Marco
Ghiotto and Bracalente was too big to start another attack.
finally finished fourth in his class and was the best of the Italian MM
International team. Teammate Ripoli finished 5th, ahead of Salvatore de Plano
(ITA, Top Speed).
Haezebrouck had a much harder time today. After a strong fourth place
yesterday, he was handed back in the race today and finished seventh in
Mangini (ITA, MM International) was also a long time in the lead, a technical
defect led to his early retirement.

Surprise in qualifying at the Red Bull Ring: Stratford and Bracalente in row 1.
Phil Stratford (USA, Penn Elcom Racing) took pole position in both BOSS GP races at the Pirelli Masters 2019, putting a BOSS GP crowd favourite at the front of the field: Stratford’s Benetton B197 is a real eye-catcher. Since last year, the car also has the signature of his ex-pilot Gerhard Berger on it’s painting. For Stratford, the pole position is his first in the BOSS GP. It’s also a conciliatory result, as last year he was unable to compete in the season finale on this circuit due to a gearbox failure.
With a fabulous time of 1:17.332 min Alessandro Bracalente (ITA, Speed Center) fought his way into the front row. This also makes the BOSS GP rookie the fastest pilot in the FORMULA class.
Florian Schnitzenbaumer (DEU, Top Speed) and Marco Ghiotto (ITA, Scuderia Palladio) will start from row 2. Ghiotto was fastest in the second qualifying group. Little by little he improved his times, at the end he set the very good time of 1:19.158. Similarly well managed Armando Mangini (ITA, MM International) his Pirelli P Zero tyres. The experienced Italian also drove his fastest time at the very end of the 20-minute session and starts alongside Andreas Fiedler (DEU, Fiedler Racing). Yesterday Fiedler complained about problems in the first of the two left corners at the Red Bull Ring. But with 5th place in qualifying the championship leader will be able to have a serious say about the victory
Sergio Ghiotto (Scuderia Palladio), Luca Martucci (MM International), Gianluca Ripoli (MM International) complete the Italian package in places 7 to 10.
Salvatore de Plano had to change to the spare car this morning. Instead of his yellow-red GP2 Dallara he drives the rest of the weekend with a black-and-red car. Although he only completed seven laps, de Plano was able to finish in the top 10.
Philippe Haezebrouck finished eleventh, beating Inter Europol team mate Walter Steding by a narrow two-tenths of a second.
Thomas Jakoubek (AUT, Top Speed) is starting the race in 13th place. Ulf Ehninger (DEU, ESBA Racing) in the second 1997-Benetton starts the hunt in 14th place. Ehninger was able to rewind 14 laps without any problems and collected valuable kilometres for him in a Formula 1 racing car he was not used to yet.
The Swiss Speed Center drivers Peter Göllner and Christian Eicke start from 15 and 16.
Ingo Gerstl (AUT, Top Speed) had to move to the second qualifying group after an engine change. With only two laps, OPEN leader Gerstl didn’t set a qualifying time. Gerstl will start from the very last position in the race as it looks.
Race 1 will take place today, Friday: Start is at 15:30. Race 2 follows tomorrow at 15:45 o’clock, before there will be a warm-up at 10.
Formula 1, Formula 2 and World Series cars are back on track in the Alps. Europe’s fastest racing series will be competing at Pirelli Masters on the Red Bull Ring from 23 to 25 May 2019.
Motorsport fans never get closer to Formula 1: The BOSS GP is coming to Austria for its second race weekend in 2019. In the package are the fastest racing cars in the world and the 20 heroes who drive them. The one-make championship KTM X-Bow Battle and the DMV GT series are also part of the line-up.
When is the BOSS GP on track? The race weekend starts already on Thursday and ends (!) on Saturday. On Friday there will be the first race of the BOSS GP. Premiere: Saturday morning there will be for the first time a 10-minute warm up session of the Big Open Single Seater.

Where can I find the BOSS GP cars? The BOSS GP teams are in the garages with numbers 1 to 9 in the pit lane. Andreas Fiedler’s team is based in the paddock behind the garages. There you will also find the BOSS GP catering from Sabel Racing and the Hollerweger Pirelli tyre service.
How do I get tickets for the Pirelli Masters? Admission is free on each of the three days. Seating is free on all open grandstands and access to the paddock is not restricted. This allows fans to watch the teams and drivers from the front row at work.
The 25th season of BOSS GP starts this weekend at the Hockenheimring in Germany. With more track time and more power than ever.
Europe’s fastest racing series has been around for 25 years, ten of them under the label BOSS GP. Reason enough to get the party rolling for the Big Open single Seater 2019. The season traditionally begins on the Formula 1 circuit of Hockenheim near Stuttgart this weekend (26 to 28 April).
Two races of the spectacular BOSS GP are on the schedule, in a setting that could hardly be more wonderful: The Bosch Hockenheim Historic, in honour of Scottish racing driver Jim Clark, who died in an accident in Hockenheim on 7 April 1968, attracts around 500 starters and more than 20,000 fans to the Motodrom every spring. The ticket includes free access to the paddock, the exhibitions, the pit roof and the pits themselves.
Competitors: BOSS GP 20 drivers are registered for the race weekend in Hockenheim. With record champion Ingo Gerstl (AUT, Toro Rosso STR1), Gerd Thöny (LIE, Jordan EJ13), Phil Stratford (USA, Benetton B197) and Ulf Ehninger (DEU, Benetton B197) four Formula 1 cars have been announced.
There will also be 15 Formula 2 cars on the grid, including local heroes Andreas Fiedler (runner-up in the FORMULA class 2018) and Walter Steding.
The definitive starter list will be published later.
Apart from Andreas Fiedler (paddock), the teams and drivers of the BOSS GP will be based in the front pits (numbers 3 to 21).
Timetable: BOSS GP at Bosch Hockenheim Historic The 4.5-kilometre Grand Prix circuit and the supporting events will compete for the favour of the spectators. Each of the three days of the event start at 9 am. Alongside the BOSS GP, the highlights are the FIA Lurani Trophy, the CanAm racing cars and the Young Timer touring cars.
The BOSS GP will have two half hour practice sessions on Friday. On Saturday morning the qualifying for the starting grid of both races will take place. The first race (20 minutes) will be held on Saturday, the second race (25 minutes) on Sunday at prime time at 2:10 pm. Before that there will be an additional warm-up for the drivers and fans in the morning.
Thursday (25 April) is test day.

Weather Forecast: Typical for April Packing an umbrella can be helpful this weekend. In typical April weather with a change of sunshine and rain the drivers must adapt to changing conditions. At temperatures of around 10 to 15 degrees Celsius.
Tickets: Bosch Hockenheim Historic For Friday there’s an offer for 10 euro. A day ticket for Saturday or Sunday costs 30 euro each, 45 euro the weekend. Wheelchair users and children under the age of 14 have free admission – paddock and free choice of seat included.
