Season Highlight in Assen
août 3, 2016

zandvoort-552 Following the long summer break, the BOSS GP engines are finally screaming again! The fourth racing weekend of the season will take place on the renowned TT Circuit in Assen

Assen means action! Last year, more than 120,000 fans came to the track also in support of their BOSS GP local heroes Klaas Zwart (Team Ascari), Frits van Eerd (Ves Racing) and Henk de Boer (De Boer Manx).

This time, especially Zwart wants to shine, in the OPEN Class making up for a rather disappointing weekend in Monza. The 2015 champion only scored 14 out of 50 possible points in the last round and is ready to fight back with two home wins and catch up with standings leader Ingo Gerstl.

Unlike Zwart, Frits Van Eerd is brimming with confidence celebrating two podiums in Monza and handing Minardi its first triumph in an FIA race. Having moved in on fellow-countryman Zwart, he is now hoping for more.

DSC_5424In the FORMULA Class, all drivers will attempt to keep dominating Christopher Brenier from moving another step closer to Silverware. The Frenchman enjoys a 60-point-runaway lead in the standings and is on the verge of winning the title.

Former champion Gary Hauser from Luxemburg will return to the grid, having taken a break following his Hockenheim double victory. Also, Philippe Hazebrouck is back again and aiming for podium finishes.

Tough competition for Bernier will come from the three rookies Christof von Grünigen (Zele Racing), Luis Michael Dorrbecker (Torino Squadra Corse) and Mahaveer Rangunathan (PS Racing), who all showed strong displays in Monza.

mikaAnother highlight of the Gamma Racing Day will be the return of former double F1 world champion Mika Hakkinen to the track. The Finn will visit the TT Circuit, give autographs and run several demo laps.

An important factor will be the weather. The forecast for Friday and Saturday is rain, while Sunday is expected to be hot and dry. These mixed conditions should guarantee exciting track action!
