Top season finale waiting in Imola
Ottobre 6, 2016

paul-ricard-20A great 2016 season is coming to an end. This BOSS GP year had all ingredients a fan longs for: Exciting races, big surprises, but also spectacular crashes. Now it’s time for the season closer at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola

Although the champions have already been crowned, the drivers are still hungry for Silverware. “I have come to Imola to win again. I want to close the season with two race wins”, newly-crowned FORMULA Class Champion Christopher Brenier is determined.

Austria’s Chris Höher is hoping for his third win this season, while Luis Michael Dorrbecker wants to continue his winning streak from Brno. The Mexican is battling with Salvatore de Plano for runner-up in the category. With Emanuele Romani, ‘Tintin’ and Philipp Sager three drivers will make their debuts in the FORMULA Class and each of them wants to show his skill. Brno has proven that surprises are certainly possible in BOSS GP.

Ingo Gerstl decided the OPEN Class standings in his favour in Brno and then quickly rushed “home to celebrate with all my mechanics.” In Imola, the Austrian is planning to clear the table again.

Due to electronics problems on his Jaguar F1 Gerstl’s archrival Klaas Zwart will not run in Imola, but there is a new challenger on the horizon. Former F1 ace Tarso Marques will join VES Racing for the season closer. The ex-team mate of Fernando Alonso is all excited and wants to prove that he is still lightning quick.

ChampCar driver Peter Milavec will try to finally win a run this season in order to outpace Frits van Eerd for P2 in the overall standings. The Dutchman, however, is going to switch back into his Minardi PS04B, which brought him victory in Monza. Bernd Herndlhofer is returning to the cockpit in Imola, while wie Hans Laub wants to make up for Brno, where the German’s car stopped right before the finish line with a dry tank. Countryman Wolfgang Jordan earned P3, but will have to sit out this time. The H&A Racing driver broke his collar bone a few days ago.

The weather forecast predicts mixed conditions at around 20 degrees Celsius, but with scattered showers.
