Since the opening free practice session started an hour late, the drivers wasted no time getting acquainted with the track and winning vital data. Tarso Marques lapped the fastest time in the OPEN Class, while Luis Michael Dorrbecker was quickest in the FORMULA Class.

Flying around the Autdromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in 1:44;502 minutes, the Brazilian proved that he has not lost any of his speed despite having spent quite some time outside a formula car. Austria’s Peter Milavec (GP Racing) placed second and was content saying “I did a lot of laps to get a feel for the track conditions. The car is great and the circuit a lot of fun.” Team Speed Center Castrol driver Hans Laub placed his Forti FG03 on P3.

Newly-crowned FORMULA champion Christopher Brenier came third, while rookies Emanuele Romani, Philipp Sager and ‘Tintin’ finished fifth, sixth and seventh.

Also co-favourite Chris Höher was happy: “On some tracks it takes a little time to adapt to the conditions. I drove the car in the wet for the first time today, but everything was fine. The track is really cool.”
