Arnold Wagner races in Heinz-Harald Frentzen's seat

Some drivers consider a car to be a machine that needs to be adjusted in the right way to make it perform to the max. Arnold Wagner loathes this attitude though. “The BOSS GP is a fantastic class and it’s a joy to be able to drive in this class with cars with such an amazing history. However, only when they’re in their original state. There’s no point otherwise.” The German himself races in a beautiful Arrows A22 – F1 from 2001, obviously in its original state. “Yes, even the stickers should all be exactly like back in 2001. That’s the biggest thrill of it all!”
The dedication with which Arnold Wagner is at work has characterised him his entire life. And not just when it comes to the car racing industry. The 56-year-old is a true perfectionist and those who have kept tabs on him throughout his racing career know why.

Three-time hillclimbing champion
“I started my car racing career in the hillclimbing discipline. I started doing that in the 1980s and did it for about 20 years. I was crowned German hillclimbing champion three times, and recorded a number of other good results. You have to be extremely precise in hillclimbing, because one minor mistake can have big consequences for both driver and car. This eye for details suits me pretty well though. It’s like a second nature for me and has helped me a lot, both in the car racing industry and in my personal life.”
