Renzo Napione gets a new adrenaline rush

The entry list at the Autodromo di Monza for the sixth BOSS GP race weekend featured as many as five Italian guest drivers. One of them was Renzo Napione, who made a most remarkable BOSS GP debut indeed. First of all, he had never been racing at Monza before. Secondly, he reached the podium in his first ever race in an unfamiliar car. But most of all he made a stunning debut because he finished in the same position as he started….Napione is a hillclimb competitor who is used to caning his car through a hill climb stage with a speed of 250km/h. “For getting an adrenaline rush nothing can beat attacking a curve with a full field of cars.”

Renzo Napione got behind the wheel for the first time some 25 years ago. Like most drivers, he started his career in karting, but he soon made a spectacular career move and hit the pedal of a Formula 3000 car in order to climb a hill as fast as possible.

European championship
After a tentative start with ‘Hillclimbing’ races in his native country Italy, he travelled through Europe, competing in European Championship races in countries such as France, Germany, Slovakia, Croatia, The Czech Republic, Spain and Portugal.
