Three years after finishing third in the general classification, Jens Renstrup has made his comeback in BOSS racing. The Danish driver thoroughly enjoyed his return to racing at Spa-Francorchamps in the Big Open Single Seaters. “It’s so much fun to race in this class.”

The third BOSS GP event of 2011 once again attracted a few new participants who had not featured in the international racing class with amazing F1s, GP2s, Champcars, F300s, Indycars and World Series cars before in this season. Aside from the Austrian Bernd Herndlhofer and French duo Fabien Giroix and Frédéric Fatien, Danish driver Jens Renstrup also made an appearance at Spa-Francorchamps.

Comeback after three year
Renstrup had plenty of hands to shake at the paddock of the illustrious Belgian track. The Dane is no stranger to most BOSS GP drivers after fighting out some interesting battles for a full season in 2008. “I haven’t raced since because of a very busy job. I now make my comeback after well over two years of inactivity,” explained Renstrup. “I am really looking forward to it.”

To the limit
Car racing is the perfect opportunity to release some steam for the 46-year-old Scandinavian. He thoroughly enjoyed his weekend of driving around as fast as possible. “Racing is something unique. It is completely different to anything you do in real life,” he said. “It’s a big personal challenge time and time again. You are always pushing yourself to the limit with the combination of complete focus and commitment. Every time you test yourself like that, you learn something about yourself. I really like that part of the sport.”
