Titleholder Klaas Zwart is back in the race for the BOSS GP title following his double win at Donington Park. The experienced driver steered his Benetton Formula 1 to victory in both races at the English circuit. Austrian driver Ingo Gerstl and Dutchman Henk de Boer both won one race each in the Formula-class. French rookie Didier Sirgue cruised to victory twice in the Masters-division.

The old Formula 1s, GP2s, Champcars, Indycars, F3000s and World Series cars gathered at the beautiful green hills of Leicestershire last weekend. The cars reached impressive top speeds at the two-mile track. Both Marijn van Kalmthout and Klaas Zwart completed several laps with an average of over 200 kilometres per hour.

Former champion
Tony Worswick participated again after being absent for several years. The 58-year-old British driver was one of the best drivers around in the BOSS race scene around 2000. “I was the champion of the racing class that eventually became the BOSS GP both in 1999 and 2001,” says Worswick. “I was driving in a Jordan Formula 1 back then, a car in which Rubens Barrichello and Eddie Irvine raced before. I wiped the dust off that car for this weekend.” Unfortunately for Worswick, an oil problem appeared to be unsolvable and his comeback was limited to only half a lap in the qualification.
