Xavier Maassen about the BOSS GP: "I've always had the desire to drive Formula 1"

Bob-bob-bob-bob
The Coloni is being prepared by Geva during the Masters. However, the Coloni with its 570 horse powers failed to keep up with the other cars with even more horse powers during the qualification and the first race in the BOSS GP-series. “It’s pretty strange to drive in a car like this. You have to keep the rotational speed between 7.000 and 9.500 all the time. The car starts to go bob-bob-bob-bob as soon as the rotational speed drops below 7000. You have to push the car right from the start to prevent that. You just can’t keep a Formula 1 car under control otherwise.”

First real race
Xavier Maassen indeed manages to qualify for the official race at Circuit Park Zandvoort in Naoki Hattori’s old Coloni and the car makes its first kilometers in an official race. The race itself wasn’t too much of a success though. The driver from Limburg steered his car off the track pretty quick during the qualification, while his first race came to an abrupt end after only 5 laps out of 14. However, Maassen had really enjoyed the experience. “This is a great weekend. It’s simply amazing that you get the chance to drive in a Formula 1 car during the Masters of Formula 3,” concluded the Maastricht native.
