Henk Thuis: Racing in the BOSS GP definitely beats the AOW

“The car is always in charge”
Thuis also got some useful tips from Zwart about the art of racing. “One of the things he taught me is that you have to give your utmost as soon as you enter the track. These kind of cars need to be pushed in order to get the tires at the right temperature. The downforce doesn’t do its job if you don’t push the car right from the beginning,” explained Thuis. “However, you should never forget that a Formula 1 car is always in charge. As soon as you push your luck, you’re gone. You will have to pay the penalty if you hit the break too early, give too much gas or don’t slow down enough ahead of a curve. It’s an exciting search for the boundaries of the car.”

Fantastic
Henk Thuis was thoroughly enjoying racing at Circuit Park Zandvoort. “I get the chance to race with material that helped Michael Schumacher to two World titles. That’s absolutely unique! I never even dared to dream about racing in a car like that. The fact that I’m racing in extremely fast cars enriches my life,” smiles Thuis. “The best thing is that my parents-in-law visited the Masters of Formula 3 in order to see me race. They’re 84 and 85-years-old respectively and were desperate to see me in action in Zandvoort. That’s just fantastic!”
