BOSS GP heads to the Ring for another highlight

Only a fortnight after the very successful event during the ‘Masters of Formula 3’ at Zandvoort – where fans elected the BOSS GP races as the highlights of the weekend on the circuit’s website! – another spectacular event is on for teams and drivers in the BOSS GP series. The 69th ADAC Eifelrennen will be held at the Nürburgring this weekend (June 18th till 20th), attracting some of Europe’s best historic race action at a circuit which is known and loved by motor racing fans all over the world. And at such an event, the BOSS GP series can’t be missed!

Admittedly, the impressive single seaters of the BOSS GP series will not be racing on the legendary Nordschleife, but there is no doubt that they will provide an excellent show for the spectators at the Nürburgring Grand Prix circuit, too! The ADAC Eifelrennen is one of the motor racing events with the longest history in Europe. In fact, the very first Eifelrennen back in 1927 was the race meeting that marked the opening of the then-new Nürburgring. The legendary name was revived by the ADAC a few years ago and the Eifelrennen quickly has become one of the leading European historic race meetings.

Most of the drivers and cars that took part in the previous meetings at Zandvoort and Spa-Francorchamps will be back at the ‘Ring, but British driver Patrick d’Aubreby is an interesting addition to the entry list. At the Eifelrennen, he will be racing the car that was used by one Michael Schumacher for his first full season of Formula 1 racing in 1992. Somehow, that seems suitable for the BOSS GP series’ second appearance of the season in Germany…

BOSS GP action at the Eifelrennen starts on Friday, June 18th, with free practice from 14.45 till 15.15 h. Qualifying is scheduled for Saturday, June 19th, from 10.00 till 10.30 h, followed by the first race of the weekend on Saturday from 15.30 till 15.50 h. The second race will be held on Sunday, June 20th, from 15.45 till 16.10 h.
Apart from the BOSS GP series, there will be plenty to enjoy for historic motor racing fans throughout the weekend. Group C sports cars, DTM and DRM touring cars, pre-war machines, Super Sports Cup, historic Formula 3 and Formula Junior and special displays featuring Mercedes-Benz supercars and 100 years of Alfa Romeo are completing the programme, leaving no doubt that the Nürburgring is the place to be!
