Zwart holds on to perfect score despite strong comeback Van Kalmthout, Becker wins Masters Class

Reactions
Winner of the Open Class, Klaas Zwart: “I really enjoyed this weekend. Racing at Zandvoort is amazing. It’s the most challenging circuit to race at in the BOSS GP-series together with Spa-Francorchamps. It’s probably the most challenging circuit overall after Ascari (Zwart’s own circuit in Spain),” smiled Zwart.

Marijn van Kalmthout, the number two: “I used a secret weapon after all the bad luck in the past couple of weeks. Some Buddhist gave me a jade stone when I visited Thailand last winter. He told me that it would bring me luck if I kept it with me. My wife, Evelien, advised me Sunday to put this green Buddha stone in the pocket of my racing jumpsuit. It really helped me because I made an impressive and beautiful comeback in the second race. From sixteenth position to almost winning the race is simply brilliant,” concluded Van Kalmthout.
Arnold Wagner, who again finished in third position: “I arrived here in Zandvoort with a new engine. This engine hadn’t made enough kilometers yet on Saturday. I was able to increase rotational speed by 500 on Sunday. I was also faster than Saturday because I put new tires under the car. I am keen to make the car even faster and am hopeful to be back for the next BOSS GP weekend.”

Masters
There were no changes to be seen on the podium in the Masters Class. Karl-Heinz Becker was once again the fastest man of the bunch. “There are two or three curves at Zandvoort that really require courage. The Arie Luyendijk curve and the Scheivlak are examples. You really have to show courage there. I had a lot of fun here.”
Runner-up Damien Charveriat: “I had a great weekend with two second spots. I really enjoy participating in the BOSS GP. Unfortunately, I won’t be around at the Nurburgring next race due to my obligations in the FIA GT3. However, I’m keen to return in the series at Zolder. This really is fun.”
Carlos Antunes Tavares finished in third position and once again made the podium: “The track was a bit wet at the beginning of the race, but I decided to start on slicks. That turned out to be an advantage later on in the race when the track was slowly becoming dry again. That was the main reason why I was able to get past Henry Büttner, who was racing on wets. I’m quite satisfied with that feat.”
