Zwart holds on to perfect score despite strong comeback Van Kalmthout, Becker wins Masters Class

Race 2
Klaas Zwart immediately left the rest of the drivers behind him in the second race. His biggest rival, Marijn van Kalmthout, was forced to start the race as the last man in line after not finishing in the first race. He started the race brilliantly though and had already passed five drivers when he approached the first curve. The Dutchman continued to impress and climbed from sixteenth position to second spot in no time.

The safety car then entered the circuit after Frits van Eerd lost control of his Tyrrell - the car that makes the characteristic ‘crying Formula 1 noise’ on the straight ends of the circuit - in the Tarzan-curve and was left stranded on the edge of the track. This handed Van Kalmthout the opportunity to narrow the gap with Zwart.

Nevertheless, the latter made a perfect re-start and successfully defended his leading position. Van Kalmthout did his utmost to get past Zwart in the remaining three laps and came really close. However, Zwart eventually finished 0,4 seconds ahead of his compatriot to record yet another win.
